- Initial Discussion and Briefing
First and foremost, we find out how you would like the site to function for your organization? Who is the target audience? How do you want to be represented? Everything from the big picture to what your favorite colors are will be discussed.
The Creative Compass team gets together to discuss the project scope and creates a estimate and tentative timeline for the potential client. Typically the design and development process takes anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks, start to launch. The word tentative is used because the amount of back and forth with both phases is undetermined. In addition to the website estimate, we discuss our other services; domain registration, web hosting, and search engine optimization.
We create anywhere from 2 - 5 front page designs using the information gathered from our initial discussion and briefing. This is an exciting process in which the client can see their ideas come to life and also see some of our creative interpretations. The designs are custom to fit the needs and wishes of the client. Not only do we establish the look and feel for the website but during this phase, the directory links and site navigation is also deteremined.
We take the approved design and start coding the site using any combination of XHTML, CSS, ASP.net, PHP, JavaScript and Flash. During this phase we supply a BETA version enabling the client to view the progress of the site on the internet but without it actually being live/available to the public. This also allows for the client to see how the navigation and links function through a browser.
The BETA site has been reviewed and approved and tested on all the major browsers. The site is launched and is live on the internet. If it is a new site, we do a one-time submission to all the major search engine properties.
After the project is completed we offer a monthly maintenance package that includes hourly rates and monthly invoicing. This makes it easy for those who want quick changes to their site. Creative Compass makes edits and updates within 2 days of the request. For those who would like to maintain their own website that capability would be determined in the initial discussion and briefing allowing for proper consideration during the development phase.
